Giver of life.

The irony of playing the zero-sum game with God is that the zero-sum game assumes the players will pick themselves over the other to ensure survival.

God, on the other hand, plays this game specifically to lose on the Cross and ensure our survival, hence rendering the assumption and, by extension, the entire zero-sum game moot.

This is how the Giver of Life works: With full abandonment, with complete trust, that we will reciprocate. And when we do, we make His heart sing. Death is no longer the end, but it is a means to an end with means so much more.

I've been learning a lot about this recently; through my friends, through random strangers while waiting behind them for the bus at the airport, both negative and positive demonstrations. I've experienced it for myself too; how a word said in the right time can restore, can bring healing, but one of malice can destroy self-worth, valued relationships, sometimes for years. 


And the more I experience it, the more I want to try my hardest to love life-giving fruit. I know that I'm the least of my friends to try (whiny ttm hahaha) but at the very least that is what I want to do- to try. 


Who knows? Maybe one day I'll really not only stop speaking words that destroy people, but also build them up.


Don't just avoid darkness; chase the Light. =) You are loved!

Burgers are good for you.

Today, I was challenged while I sitting alone overhead, people watching as they ambled around getting dinner.

Are you ready to embrace a legacy that is far greater than yourself? One that will live on?

I wanted to say yes. But I couldn't.

And then I realised why I haven't been able to see -couldn't, wasn't allowed to- see the future that's laying in wait for me to take a hold of.

Because if I were to see it now, I'll seize it, take control of it, say yes to it, for all the wrong reasons.

And I don't want to say yes to it- I want to say yes to the Person who gave it.

And I couldn't say yes... well, because to say yes to something that is so completely bigger than yourself, you stare at the enormity of it, and know that there is no chance at all that you can do it by yourself- independence is not even an option on my mind.

The only chance I have to not just survive, but to thrive, to be wholehearted and to enjoy it wholeheartedly, requires only one thing. My total, absolute, complete dependence.

That kicks up the question to a whole new level. Yes is no longer a word I can take lightly. Yes can no longer be half-hearted. Yes will be a commitment, a desire, a cry of my heart, that no one else can fulfill, or will fulfill, besides the One that will bring me through it.

I have stopped straddling between the exhilaration and adrenaline versus the fear of the unknown. I have started running in the right direction.

Not ready to say it. But wanting to say it.

I want to say yes.

Nothing good comes out of being awake at 2.

I am quite possibly one of those rare creatures that does not have patience for korean dramas.

oops.

My thinker side gets grumpy because the lovey-dovey stuff slows down the plot. I recently tried to watch a drama, and I got bored so I went to read the summary. I wound up being amused more by the style of writing and the sarcasm than the actual plot.

My feeler side gets too emotionally caught up in the lovey-dovey stuff and I wind up getting stupid dreams. Or nightmares, depending on the situation.

Grumpy + emotionally unstable = a recipe for disaster.

Shall stick to mind-boogling stuff like White Collar. Whoo new season! =D

On the off-chance that anyone still visits this blog, hello! =)

I've done away with the old contents, and I'm starting anew again. It's so strange to see this blog all squeaky clean, but it's so liberating at the same time.

And I -hope- that I've grown a little wiser, a little kinder and a little more encouraging than the me that I was a few years back.
